Hi there

I'm currently preparing my inland PR application with my Canadian common law partner / sponsor. I'm also applying for the OWP at the same time, to start working prior to my PR application being finalised.

To head off any questions from prospective employers around my OWP (once I start applying for jobs), I'm working through the various scenarios. Worst case, if our relationship were to break down prior to receiving my PR:

1) Would my OWP still be valid, or would it be cancelled if we withdrew the PR application?

2) If we withdrew the inland PR application and I applied for PR via Express Entry, would my OWP (issued as part of my inland PR application) still be valid even though I'd be applying for PR via a different route?

We're happily together now and have been for years, but a joint friend of ours was asked similar questions by a potential employer - I guess they want to be sure employees can continue working for them, even if their relationships don't last.

Any advice would be much appreciated! Thanks.

1) Still valid. Note that it will take anywhere from 4 -8 months to get the OWP approved after the complete application package is submitted.
2) Yes, still valid.
