Hello,

My wife has overstayed visitor's visa and worked without authorization for almost 10 years. Then she moved to
another province to live with me, we got married and applied for PR under Spouse or Common-Law Partner in Canada Class. She did not work since she has been with me.
So far, our case is doing well. Just recently we received AIP, SA & DM. Now it is time to apply for OWP for her I guess. In our PR application, she was being honest about her unauthorized work.

We have 3 options now:
1. apply for OWP on paper, with form IMM5710 clearly asking again about unauthorized work (which has been
honestly explained in IMM5669 as a part of PR application)
2. link our application to online account and apply online (which means depriving our representative of access to our case), and hope that forms there will not be as repetitive and direct (never had a chance to see these forms)
3. wait until PR has been granted and then apply for OWP

I understand that we face paying outstanding taxes for her illegal work, but perhaps total sentence would be
lenient if we choose the right path?

Best regards,
Dimka_Mai

She won't need an OWP once PR is granted.
You already reached DM stage so it is a matter of time to receive a landing appointment.
So in your case you'd rather wait.

No need to apply for an OWP if she has PR.. she can legally work, as PP stated, youre better of waiting

Does it mean that if we wait for landing interview instead of applying for OWP now - my wife will not be asked
to pay outstanding taxes? ( from what i read - landing interview questions are standard and limited ).

If you mean paying taxes for the work done without authorization, I don't have an answer for it. Maybe a senior member could be of more help on this question.
