Inland PR without living in the country

Hello All,

I have some questions regarding Inland PR processing. I had applied for PR in April’19 and have just received an email that the open work permit "Permit - WP-EXT / Permis - PT" has been sent to my home address in Canada. However, I am currently not in Canada since May due to personal reasons and do not plan on going back anytime soon.

- Will the PR application processing continue, even if I am not in the country?
- What happens if I don’t respond to the intimation from CIC, will the application become automatically abandoned?
- Is it possible to convert this to an Outland PR?

Since you are not even living in Canada and it will be for an extended time, your inland application will be treated as abandoned. There is no way that it can be converted to an outland application.
