Hi,

We have a landing interview next week (Nov 2014 applicants).
What kind of questions can we expect?
Should we bring our daughter who was born in Canada while the application was in progress?

Thanks!

Hi All,

My application is received on Nov 3, 2014 and I received medical request on April 18, 2016. I submitted medical on Apr 22, 2016. After that I didn't hear anything from CIC. Can anyone share his/her timeline or suggest how long CIC takes to verify medical results and send next correspondence?

Really appreciate all reply's. Thank you.

Hello Everyone,

I would like to know if you are able to get out of the country with COPR only after landing interview.

We are planning on vacation after my hubby's landing.

I know that PR card takes a little bit time to received and we are unable to wait for that as we cannot move our vacation dates.

Is it possible to apply temporary Resident Visa or TRV to be able to re enter canada? We are planning to apply once we've done for landing interview.

If anyone can assist me on this that would be great.

Thank you

Once your husband lands as pr, he cannot apply for TRV. He however can apply for a PR travel document. I suggest to apply for PR travel document as soon as you enter the country so that he allow time for processing for document while he is in country. Keep in mind, this applies to those who are from non-visa exempt countries.

If husband is from visa exempt, he can return to Canada with his passport. He has to tell airlines if asked, that he is visiting Canada. Once he reaches Canada, CIC can determine at the border that he is PR.

Thank you screech339 :)

We are only out for 3 weeks though. You think that processing won't take that long. he is from NON-Visa exempt country.

Thank you

I think 3 weeks is plenty of time provided he apply for PRTD as soon as he enters the country. Don't take my word for it. It really depends on the VO office of your country. The longer he delays submitting application, the riskier that the PRTD will not arrive in time for trip back. I would suggest that you have the application all ready and completed before heading out. Then mail it to the Canadian Embassy as soon as you enter the country.

I don't think it's much of an issue. I got mine within 2 days in a country where CIC is so inefficient so I think you should be fine. But just like someone advised earlier submit your application as soon as you get into that country. I had my application ready before travelling so that way I just submitted upon entry. Have fun on your vacation.

Thank you Screech and Diva DIva for this information. This really helps.

However our lawyer mentioned about the multiple entry visa (MEV) that we can apply even we landed or not and able to use it instead PRTD. Is that true or MEV is only for non PR? Really appreciate any good response.

Thank you

MEV is a TRV. All new issued TRV's are multiple entry by default except in special cases. Regardless it is still a TRV thus PR cannot apply for TRV.

Hi,

Did you receive Landing appointment? I got SA on Jun 1st but no AIP or DM. I have seen people usually get SA and AIP same day. Any idea how long it takes for AIP and DM?

Thanks!
