Hi Inlander, this is off-topic but I'll post this to help. I know how frustrating to do nothing while waiting for PR papers, been there done that. Here, in case you want to make most of your time, earn extra income and help your spouse, message me for details. No worries, this is legal and won't compromise your status in Canada.

I had my landing interview on November 19th last year and wanted to see if somebody knows how the PR card processing time works?
In November 2015 I remember checking for the PR card processing time at it said 45 days. Then it quickly changed to 75 and now its 100 days. Does that mean I have to wait 100 days or do I consider the 45 days as right and call the call centre?

Also, what happens with my temporary SIN number until I have my PR card? I was on a 1 year work permit prior becoming a PR so my document with the SIN # says that the SIN # is expired by the end of the work permit. Where do I have proof that I have a temporary SIN # because it says nothing about it on the 'Confirmation of Permanent Residence' document? Any thoughts on that?

Thank you everyone.
As I know, you do not need you PR card to get new SIN#, just bring you landing paper with passport go to canada service they will help you to get new SIN#.

There is no need to worry about it. They will update your info automatically. In case you want to make sure they did, order your notes. In the occupation status it will be written : Worker (or New Worker)

Sorry, I should have been more specific. Here is the link:

You can order the ATIP notes under privacy act for free, as I assume, you are in Canada, right? It should take about a month to receive them. Sometimes it takes longer, though I was lucky to get them on time every time I ordered.

In my experience they don't contact you at all until 1. DM or 2. they haven't gotten what they requested. No update on ECAS either.

Hopefully you hear good news from them soon!
Thank you!!

Congratulations...between 1-3 weeks
How did you determine that?

The Etobicoke office is one of the slowest and many people have waited a lot longer than 3 weeks.

Those numbers, as I'm sure you realize, only reflect the amount of time that PR cards they issued a few weeks ago took to get through the system.
This is the same reason that when you applied for processing back in 2014 you would have expected 8 to 10 months of processing, instead of 27.

You will need to wait a few more months for your PR card. Worst case, you'll get it 2 years before it expires.

Seriously though, unless you're a refugee you won't get getting your card for a few more months.
I had my landing interview at the beginning of October, and I called the center a few days ago and they said to expect it just before March.

Trudeau, being the idealistic hippie he is, committed Canada to 25000 Syrian refugees *not realizing* that 25000 is a big number.
You see, no one has told Trudeau yet that Canada can only do as much as it has budgets for, there is no "magical gifts card" he can swipe to magically pay for processing 25000 extra applications within a few short months.
CIC workers are part of a big annoying government union, which means they can't add new resources even if they have budget to do so unless those resources are temporary child-workers.

So, the reason you won't be getting your PR card any time soon is because when they need to meet an arbitrary deadline they set for themselves, and that deadline has a lot of media visibility,.The people who should be printing out your card and mailing it off, are reassigned to doing whatever the heck it is that makes CIC look better on paper to the majority of liberal news-watchers.

Got a DM today.
Any idea how long until Etobicoke office contacts me for my Landing?
It was pretty fast for me! Between DM (Jan 6), receiving landing appointment (Jan 11), to actually landing (Jan 18), was less than 2 weeks? It was a pleasant surprise, I wasn't expecting on getting my landing appointment for 5 weeks (according to the not so lucky ones on the forum).

And yes, Etobicoke.
