Hey everyone! Got my AIP - Sept 6, 2013 applicant.

When I looked on the FB spreadsheet it looked like this person actually got AOR on September 6 but applied in August - so it doesn't look like they have moved past September 4 after all!

I know - WTF already???? Do they not plan on processing anything beyond August?? This is fricking ridiculous!!!!!!! What is it going to take to get this process moving???

They got SA, the sponsor was approved and they are waiting for the AIP of the applicant.

But were they September 6 applicants or August applicants? I thought it said they got AOR on September 6/13 but their application was received in August/13? I don't think CIC has processed anything past September 4 :'(

She confirmed twice that her app was received on Sep 6th.
It not unusual that CIC jump ahead a couple days, Sep 4 and 5 applicants can get their AIP in the next couple days.

Ah ok, that's cool - it must've been a typo on the other spreadsheet. Thanks for clarifying that Sophieee - I've said it before and I'll say it again - you are super efficient!! I wish you worked on these applications at CIC, none of us would be in this huge backlog mess if that were the case!

I will send my resume as soon as I get my work permit ;D

I can't wait till I'm within a day or two of the date they put on the website.

I'm not sure what will be more frustrating, the fact that 1 or 2 days may take a month or more to process, or that it will be summer before they get to processing October.

It took them 8 months to process July, and 5 months to process August.
I can only imagine it will take them between 3 and 8 months to process September.

Seriously, why can't they just start working?
I suppose they're still on Winter break.

Its taking weeks to move forward just 1 or 2 days of ..that's really sad.

BUT..

lets look at the bright side, a WHOLE BUNCH of people with only AOR have open work permits now ...lets not forget how BIG and helpful that was to a lot of us. The Pilot program saved a lot of people.

In my situation...it was a huge help. Pretty much doubled our house hold income. She went back to work the day after she got her permit.

I did my first set of medicals upfront (so June 2013) and they've ONLY just requested the re-meds :( so I have to go next Tuesday to do that then it's the waiting game all over again

I can see the frustration for people but, for me, the key thing from AIP is an OWP and now that has been delivered I'm waiting for DM. But as long as I can work and leave Canada for vacation it's hard for me to get too wound up over it.
