A new week!!pls more AIP & DM!!
Guy as my Medicals are already expired, this week I planing to redo it again. Anybody else going through same situation resently who can give some advises??
Should I explain to the doctor than I already submit my app & ask for upfront Medicals again??
Also after we send our app, we have been collecting some extra support documents and more pic from our relationship than We would like to send together with the copy of my new medical to mississauga, do you think is good idea??
Shod we send it ourself or through our lawyer??
& to which adreess??
You advise will be appreciated, thanks.
Mine (well my husband’s) are also expired. I have been told, and heard on here that it is up to the discretion of the officer working your file if they will request new ones or not. I also asked about if we shouldn’t just get them done to be on the safe side and save time, and I have been told “No” by 3 different CIC call center reps.

If you are working with your lawyer, I think they are generally responsible for sending in additional info?

Unless you don’t feel you sent enough proof the first time, or something has changed in your relationship, I don’t think you really need to send in anything extra.

If you do, just make sure you provide a cover page with your UCI’s, full names, and that it is an Inland PR application.

I sent to the CPC-M address when I sent my husband’s new passport info….don’t have it on hand, but can look for it from home.

Yes, they rarely ever give any useful info. And often contradict themselves if you call more than once and ask the same thing.

I once had one tell me there was lots of work done on my file, and another months later tell me basically nothing had been done. When I got my GCMS notes I saw the one who said nothing had been done was right!

I have new GCMS notes coming around Nov.7th....wonder if I will already have AIP then?? Sure hope so!!

When did you apply todare?
Our application was july 17 2013 AOR. Our AIP was june 17th 2014. The waiting is an issue because of unfinished family business in the orginating country. Hope it happens soon for DM

That is not true. My wife was considered to be a visitor while waiting for PR sponsorship. She too can claim her days as visitor towards her citizenship qualification as well. All visitors, students and temporary workers all can claim their days prior to landing as PR as half days.

I don't know about that, but even so with the new implemented Bill C-24 it won't be counted.

Nobody who receives PR today will be able to count their time prior to PR for Citizenship. The new law has been passed and is merely awaiting the date it comes into force. It no longer permits time prior to PR be counted at all, and it requires at least 1460 days in the prior 6 years, plus other new requirements.

Someone that applies for citizenship prior to the effective date of the new law can count their time.

If an applicant is out of status now awaiting PR, that person would likely not able to use any time before PR toward citizenship since the 4 out of 6 year rule will go into effect sometime next summer. There is no way that the applicant will qualify under the current 3/4 year. By the time the "out of status" applicant qualify for citizenship under the 3/4 rule, the new 4 out of 6 year rule will already be in effect and have to apply under the new rule.

My wife currently can use her pre-PR days towards citizenship under the current 3 / 4 rule but the new rule will go into effect before she qualifies under the old rule, thus will be losing her pre-PR days towards citizenship qualification.

hello all,

we received stage 1 a few weeks back, but now they're asking for police certificates. we had already sent these in (which took about 6 months to receive in the 1st place). why would they ask for them again? if we got stage 1, doesn't that mean that the application was complete?

will the open work permit be held up because of this????

confused...

edit: i think we forgot to send in a police cert for 1 of the country's... that's awful. they are asking for a police cert for a country where she never lived 6 consecutive months in. it was a month here, a month there, etc. Doesn't it have to be 6 consecutive months living in a country for a police cert to be required?

She was told at the CIC office when she landed that she can claim her days as visitor before PR towards her citizenship. However by the time she qualifies for citizenship under current 3/4 rule, the new 4/6 year rule will be in effect. She will lose her pre-PR days when she applies for citizenship under the new rules.

why she will lose her pre-pr day ? doesn't just need to be 4 years will be ok ? don't need to be land as pr then stay for 6 years then check have 4 years or not
