This is a bit ridiculous. They shouldn't have a six month processing time on their webpage under waiting period then because it's obviously longer. There are a lot of things on hold in the plans my husband and I are making for the future because of this as is the same with all the other applicants that are still waiting. October was supposed to be our 6 month mark for the waiting period but I guess we can kiss that goodbye now. Ugh. Sorry for ranting - the waiting is starting to get less stressful and more annoying.

I'm trying to plan a trip to Paris for our 1st anniversary (paper) and it looks like I'm going to have to post-pone the trip at this rate. :(

However, I should be thankful that my husband was allowed to work under implied status until a decision is made on our case. Takes a bit of the stress off!

Well, the phone call went exactly how I thought it would.

The immigration agent was nice, of course... but I asked him if there was any movement on my application, and he said what we all know already. 'Unfortunately, they're still working on October's applications, so they've not gotten to yours yet.'

I asked him if he knew when the delay would be over with, and he wasn't able to give any more info. I'm a bit disappointed, but its basically what I expected him to say.
Hi Xenocat,

Thanks for sharing your experience with the forum members. I can totally understand your pain. My 6 months will get over on 13th of Sept and I am not expecting any response anytime soon.

Was the agent able to say anything about changing the time frame for stage 1 from 6 months to say 10 months, so the October 2012 date is justified?

Thanks,
Niks1

Hi,

I am new to this forum here and I was wondering how your husband was allowed to work under implied status?

Any information on this would be greatly appreciated!

It's a gong show. I'm sick and tired of it to be honest! I have my doubts we included enough proof so this delay isn't helping whatsoever. Boo hoo :'(

He might have been on a work permit that was still intact when they applied or he was able to extend it. I was on an IEC work permit which wasn't extendable so i had to stop working.

I've been waiting 9 months for AIP, my gut tells me nothing will start moving till sept. if I get earlier, awesome. If not, I have enough to fill my stress void with crops, animals and old old machinery. I will pick up my CIC stress levels once I have harvest behind me!

That sounds like a good plan you got there. I stopped caring for how long it takes (or at least I'm trying) so joining the gym both shreds off fat AND it makes me feel happier so that's what I'm going to do. I am starting to get nervous that we won't have enough evidence to prove our common law relationship. It was rather difficult I thought! :)

I will be about to join you guys in your wait! Application is going in tomorrow!! FINALLY!
I'm a bit confused about if we are to send it direct to Vegerville or here in Mississauga?
So with this Strike thing, are NO Applications currently processing?

Sorry if I've asked something already covered in this thread, I am slowly making my way through all 82 pages when I can.... :)

Do you want to apply for 'INLAND'? Then, you should send your applications to Vegerville.
CPC-Vegerville and CPC-Mississauga are not taking strike action. They are working. Just slow......

The processing times for initial assessment jumped from 6 months to 10. I was trying a stress relieve strategy by checking CIC website only Mondays. I'm so stressed out now I'm about to eat my left shoe.
I'm in my early 30s with advance degree and I'm just sitting at home. I'm supposed to be most productive NOW!!!!! My family tells me that I should enjoy this time while I can because I am destined to regret working and getting up every day. I wanna cry.

Yes we are both here in Canada....I assume that is what's considered Inland??

And what a relief to know that its not Vegerville or Mississauga on Strike! I thought it was!

Because you are both here in Canada, you can choose send your applications to Inland or Outland.

I'm confused now...I was under the impression as we are both here in Canada it must be sent Inland??

Outland would be to send it to a Visa Office Outside of Canada, correct??
