That's what I thought.. My hubby got AOR but I didn't.. We did put the same email.. but I think only the sponsor gets AOR since the are working on AIP

Yeah I think they send it by snail mail - that AIP. We never know lol.

Despite asking to be contacted by email and providing our email addresses, we received just one snail mail letter for AOR. It was addressed to my husband, provided his UCI, and went on to state that CIC had received his application to sponsor me and provided my UCI.

As for them changing the timeline, I'm glad to see it (though, still no update on the website this week). All they did was start to reflect reality. The wait has been far longer than 6 months for quite some time, as many of us fall of 2012 applicants know all too well. I would rather they reflect the timeline honestly than stubbornly insist that the timeline for stage 1 is six months, even when you call and ask about your app after seven months...or eight...or nine. (A week out from 10 months here.)

Do we know for sure that this Strike is not affecting the processing in Vegerville in any way?

Slower AOR's? No recent AIP's?...even the updates on their site don't seem to be "on time"....like it is supposed to update on Thursday, and it didn't...

But they will catch up on lost time when summer ends right?? right???? *wishful thinking*

Just wondering, the “10 month (initial assessment) Working on applications received on October 12, 2012”....does the received on date the mentioned mean the day they physically receive it in the office or when the AOR was received?

Just wondering if I can start counting the 10 months in my head now or not until we get our AOR....

I know it doesn't make much difference in the end...but for now every day counts...lol

Thanks for your reply! :)
Well that's at least something positive I suppose!! :)

Why is it taking 10 months to process an application?

It should be a very quick process however this is becoming a joke.

Happy winter solstice everyone, it is December 22, 2012 and the world is still here :) We are coming into the new year and I thought this would be a good time to start a 2013 inland application thread as I have already seen many posts that are preparing there application for the new year. A warm welcome to all new applicants and please come and share your questions and experiences here.
I need help. My wife is sponsoring me for the PR.I didn't sent owp application when we apply. I sent owp application a month ago online. I got a refuse notice yesterday for the owp
Aren't they supposed to wait for the aip before they made a decision?????????

I'm not a pro yet, like some ppl around here...but to the best of my understanding, it must be sent in physically and cannot be done online for the Open Work Permit.

You are right :-)
Owp app can be send only in two ways:
1. Physically, printed and in the same package as your PR application.
2. Physically, during the processus(or after aip if you wanna wait) also printed and containning your UCI number and maybe a letter from cic (aor, aip) so they can match the owp to the pr app.

If you did it online, there's no way for them to track it and math it with your sponsor file (or they are just lazy to even try to do it) so thats why it will be threat as a normal owp...

Try calling cic and expose your problem so they can give you the right formulary number and steps to follow.
God bless and good luck!
