cmathslu, thanks so much for your answers, I will try to figure out what to do now since I'm in this sh** :))

I am almost in the same situation in BC. ICBC told me I have to wait until my AIP (work permit) to start the process since I am on implied status right now, and have no legal document to show.

I am from a country that have to do the road test again (unfortunately), and you're only allowed to drive for 90 days after entering Canada. One more crazy thing from the gov. - you can drive for 90 days, after this, you have to do the written and road test again or you're not allowed to drive anymore. Makes no sense to me.

Please help me with advice!!! ???

How to receive Canadian (BC) driving license when you are waiting for PR? ???

I have multiple visa, which will be expired this November together with my passport.
I am Russian, moved with my husband (Canadian) and our two children(now three) (Canadians) to Vancouver last July.
Then we left to USA in December for 3 weeks and from December 30th my visit began to count next 6 months.
We applied for Sposorship and my Permanent Residence at the end of January.
I am driving all the time (mostly like soccer Mum) with my Russian licence, which I can use for 6 months as tourist.
6 months are expired on June,30 th. And what to do??? :o
PLEASE ADVISE!!!
Will they give me BC driving license if I am not resident???

Does anyone know the answer to the driver's license for Alberta?

I'm a bit west of Edmonton. I was able to get mine last year after receiving AOR. I had to bring the letter with me, along with my passport and a driving abstract from my home country. It was only good for a year, but since then I got my OWP and now my license is good until the end of that or until I get PR and then it will be five years like everyone else.

If you have a problem with a licensing place, you might have to try another. The first one I went to didn't know anything about immigration issues. Plus my driving abstract wasn't good enough for them because I got it online. The lady actually told me that I could have forged it. Except that was the only way for me to get my abstract in my state, they do not mail them out. Anyhow, I went to another licensing office and it was all good.

Hey Guys! Has the update day changed from Thursday to another day? Maybe it's just that they are too busy working lol .. hopefully :D

I am afraid that means they not working at all...
The Thursday before Easter holidays CPC-M also didn't update, they updated 5 days later, with the same date :(
I hope next time they do, it's a new date! ;)

We got one more AOR today, so they are definitely working on something:) Hopefully they will update tomorrow.

You can get temporary / interim licence. There is a forum about this:

thanks a lot!!! :)

One more question. If I apply for PR in January 2014 -when to expect PR? ???
My husband and three children are Canadians, me and my husband (he was born in Vancouver) are together for 17 years.
I d like to visit my parents and want to fly to warm countries for vacations, but can not leave while waiting. :'(

You can submit an 'Outland' application while in Canada (that way, you can leave when you want). I do not see any chance of your application failing when you have a 17-year relationship and 3 children.

i think my interview went okay yesterday.she was a female immigration officer she questioned me for one hour and 20 minutes but she was pretty good. and she Question my wife just for 20 minutes she said she will let me know in two weeks if I get (AiP) (that's normal) ???

i thought they do let you know on the spot????,...did you ask her what the red flag was?

It is updated, 10 months now ... >:(

Just to those curious, the website updated and it's still at July 8th and it's now showing 10 months of first stage. I kind of knew it was going to happen, but just wanted to let you guys know. Hoping we hear some good news soon!
