When you send your application, I think next week cic begin to work on jun apllication, you need to maintain a statut legal in canada, you can doing visit medical now and probably you get AIP ans DM the seme time.

I sent my PR application on the 25 June 2013 to sponsor my wife without medical exam but we attached the police certificate. Her studying visa will be expired on the 15 March 2014. I think even though she will get her AIP before March 2014, she needs to extend her visa as visitor as well. We do want to do a medical exam but now she is pregnant for 4 months already. I don't know if it is better to do it right away or wait until she delivers our baby. Do you have any idea? Thanks you for your advises :)

A baby! How exciting! Congratulations!

In regards to the medical, chest x-rays are required, which cannot be done while your wife is pregnant. The medical exam will be incomplete without them, so if I were you, I would wait until after she delivers the baby.

Unfortunately this means you cannot receive AIP and DM at the same time, but with AIP, she'll be covered by provincial health care after 3 months, if she's not already covered (depending on your location), and the baby will be covered immediately, as a Canadian citizen.

Best of luck!

I'm like you. I called CIC today and told them that my application was received on April 2nd 2013 and that I haven't heard anything, so they got into my file and sent CIC a message regathering my application. He also said I should hear something soon.

You should give them a call tomorrow. Best of luck! :)

I think is better to do it right now, your wife she can become RP without medical, an after AIP I think you have just 3 months for doing the medical, you can ask the doctor about this but is not the probleme you can do it now,

Thanks you very much JLynn1987 and Mimssimo for your good advises. Indeed by now it is less then 1 year that she comes to Canada as student. She did a medical exam in our country when she applied for student here but I am not sure if the CIC will take the result from previous one to complete the PR application.
I will give a call to a clinic in Montreal today in order to ask them if they can do it for her. Thanks you very much again :)
