Countries like US require fingerprints to issue PCC, if applicant's country doesn't require fingerprints to issue PCC then he/she don't need to get them done.

Thanks for the clarification guri!!

Hi rr sweet,
How long did it take before you get a medical referral from vegreville?thanks

Hey ronair,
I didn't wait for a request from Vegreville. I just did it before I sent my application.

I'm quite curious about how long it's gonna take for us who didn't include a medical exam with/or before we sent off the application..

I'm about to send off my Work Permit and Common Law-PR Application, Where do we send it?

Mississauga or Vegreville?

Please read 'Instruction Guide IMM5289' carefully! You can find the correct address at 'Step 4. Mail the application'.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5289ETOC.asp

So, if you still want to apply for your PR <INLAND>, you should send your application to Vegreville.

I don't know if anyone noticed, but CIC made some changes in their website. Aside from the fact that there should be an update tomorrow (hopefully a big jump all the way to mid February :P ;D) there is a notice saying "No new applications will be accepted for processing before the program re-opens on January 2, 2014."

Hopefully that will help them to catch up a little!!! at least before Christmas ;)

Line.a, you should get on your medical stuff and send it in right away. With a straight forward case like yours there is a good chance you would get AIP/DM in the same day just like I did!

I received the OWP this week and the issue date was on Dec. 5, 2013. It valids for 2 years until Dec. 5 2015.

App Filed: Jan 21, 2013
OWP sent: Oct 10, 2013
AIP: Nov 19, 2013
OWP: Dec 5, 2013

I think that is for parent and grandparent sponsorship applications, as THAT program official re-opens on Jan 2, 2014.

(from CIC):

New parent and grandparent sponsorship application forms, guide and information on how to apply will soon be available.

All new applications must be completed using the new forms.

No new applications will be accepted for processing before the program re-opens on January 2, 2014.

Where do you get the medical form from? If I haven't heard from them before New Years, which I doubt then I'm gonna do it as the 1st thing after New Years when everything is open again. We have to pay the other half part of the app as well which hopefully gets done asap!

When we did our medical we just went to one of the immigration doctors listed on CIC's website and they had all the paper work ready to go and then they send it to CIC I believe.

Good idea. I would definitely do the medicals and pay the other half in the new year and hopefully the medicals are received before they contact you. AIP/DM at same time is soooo much better than getting AIP and having to wait months more.
