Hey !

I'm quite lost.

Which date do we have to check to see where we are in the mix.
Is it the one saying that they received our file the 22nd of January 2012 or the date when they begin to work on our file ?

Who gets the email? Sponsor or sponsored spouse? I should be next, applied on Jan 22, 2013!
Hi John! In my case, we both did. First the sponsor gets the e-mail stating that they have met the requirements for eligibility to sponsor (if that's the case of course). Then, the person being sponsored gets an e-mail indicating that they have met the eligibility requirements to apply for Permanent Residency. If a medical was not included with the application they will also send the medical request with the IMM1017E form to take to the Panel Physician.

You're almost up!! Good luck!!! :D

AOR (acknowledgement of receipt) is when they received you file. That's the one we're using for our spreadsheet. :D

Thanks for your reply.

I check the spreadsheet and it seems you don't have the same date in your profile and in the spreadsheet. :D
Your AOR was the 18h of January or the 23rd ?

Hello rorodegdeg,

You will have to go by the date the CIC received your application.

if they received your application on Jan 22nd, then that's the date you should go by. AOR is the date that CIC send you an email indicating that they have received your application ont he following date..

hope this helps.

Have a good day!

I sent my application on the 18th (app. filed) but I received AOR (according to eCas) January 23rd. You're right though. I should ask Guri. LOL Thanks for noticing that!

give your consultant a call by evening, lot of them are lazy to report on time (mine is).

I do hope so! I can't wait to have those papers in my hand. BTW, what do you mean interview? I didn't get any notifications about an interview. Is it because not everyone has to go for an interview after AIP?
LaylaLala;

We were actually called for an interview before the AIP. Since we had a red flag to our file I (sponosor) was questioned for about 50 mins and my husband was asked to wait with our son outside. Than once the officer was done with me she called in my husband for less than 2 mins and then asked both of us to come in and she gave us AIP. They only call you for an interview if there is something serious in your file. I guess someone doesn't like us thats why created problems for us thats why our process took 22 months. Your file was cleared thats why they sent you AIP without questions so your good :).

All the very best for the last step which is the PR that my husband is waiting for too.

Hey guys,

Most people applying for PR in here have to "land" but my gf is already living in Canada working on a PGWP.
We are still waiting for AIP..so lots of time..but once we receive AIP then DM (hopefully we get them at the same time) she obviously doenst have to 'land'...so once DM is issued to her is she technically a permanent resident? or is there another step after DM for those who are already living here?

thanks,

No. There is one more step after DM. You "land" at the final interview where your girlfriend (well don't say gf at interview, she is your common-law) sign the COPR in the local CIC office.
