@ Salsal31 and Line.a thanks for your guys input. I am now thinking to apply for gcms notes this week and see if they believe relationship is genuine. If they don't then I will send more and hope for no interview.
P.S. For gcms notes who will be applying for them sponsor or the applicant?

I think it can be both of you who can order them, it goes to the same address anyway so I doubt it matters!

Make a cover letter and put your file number on it and just let them know its additional documents sent voluntarily to let them know the relationship is still perfect and ongoing.

That won't be a great idea to send a CD, don't bother about videos. Just print the pictures out and send it for them.

Hi Everyone my husband and I just send our application today with his OWP as well.
Hi IEC expires in May 16 so here is to hoping that by some miracle he doesn't have to stop working because we got AIP BEFORE THAT.....if not right now we are focusing on having our saving set to pay for 6 months rent upfront at that time because with my income we can survive the bills and even save a little if it doesnt include rent.....

Anyways here is my timeline

I went to this link http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/requests-atip.asp chose online, filled it out. In the end it asks if you want to upload anything. I uploaded IMM 5744E consent form and that's it.
Choose "privacy act" it will be free.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
P.S. Choose "electronic files" because physical files take a long time.

Question - do you know if having a "Temporary Resident Permit" allows my hubby to work? this may have been asked several times in the forum, but it never actually 'registered' in my mind sorry! we just got the approval to have his visitor visa extended (it expired on September 30) and it says Temporary Resident Permit so it got us thinking... I understand it is NOT the open work permit, but we wonder if he could try to get a job (any job at this point!) while the wait continues.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

You cannot work in Canada without an OWP.

In the extension should say something like this

"CONDITIONS"

1. UNLESS AUTHORIZED, PROHIBITED FROM ENGAGING IN EMPLOYMENT IN CANADA.
2. MUST LEAVE CANADA BY "DATE"
3. UNLESS AUTHORIZED, PROHIBITED FROM ATTENDING ANY EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION AND TAKING ANY ACADEMIC, PROFESSIONAL OR VOCATIONAL TRAINING COURSE.

This is what the page says:

May I work in Canada?

If you wish to work in Canada, you will need a work permit in addition to your valid temporary resident permit. To apply for a work permit, use the form Application to Change Conditions, Extend my Stay or Remain in Canada as a Worker (IMM 5710) (PDF, 344 KB).

For the signature part you need to print the form out , then both of you should sign it where applicable,then scan and upload it.

Guys, I am in the process of putting together my application to submit and I just need some advice or suggestions.......

I am in a same sex marriage with my partner, we are both from a country where being in a same sex relationship is actually against the law and is a crime.

My partner is also a citizen of Canada and is sponsoring me. I came to Canada 3 years ago on a student visa and I am on a work permit right now. Because our relationship is frowned upon, some of our family and friends both in Canada and from our country are not aware of the marriage, they believe we are just good friends. We go to church together, shopping, take classes together and other very private things.

Our fear is that we can't afford to let the knowledge of our marriage get to our family back in our country as we will both be disowned.

So my concern is when it comes to our photos to submit..... We hardly take photos as my partner completely hates taking pics and is just doing it for the application, plus is afraid of the photos getting back to our family.

Thus far I have a total of about 35 pics, we spend a lot of time doing things together, so there are not many emails, but we do have our phone records, texts and IMs........so should I be worrying about the photos taking our 'special' situation into consideration. How many pictures should I aim to submit, I think I can talk my partner into taking some more, just need to know how much is a good amount.
