I think there's a minimum of post that you have to have before you are allowed to PM. I'm not too sure though. :/

Yep, you must have 10 posts before you can send PMs. And to do something else, too. Maybe post links? Not sure.

I don't think I ever posted a link or anything, but I sent PM's just fine (I think I had about 20 posts at the time?)

Now I was thinking. If I don't do anything fancy like get my passport updated (because right now, it seems like a huge pain to go through)
Is it a good idea to send CIC pictures of our "official" ceremony that we had in May? We got married in November by signing our documents but had a larger ceremony with our friends and family in May. Since we sent the application in March pictures of this obviously weren't in the application but we did let them know about our upcoming ceremony.

Yay finally 7 months into it all. Is it time to get excited yet?
I hope there is some movement happening this week.. would be nice. For the time being it's time to go hide out in the mountains camping for a little while.. getting things off our minds! :)

Yeah lets hope so I have been checking out the 2012 Inland apps thread & those folks seem to be having a fair bit of movement going on there the last week or 2 so fingers crossed.

Oh nice. It's turns out to be rather expensive for just a couple days out camping. Hope you guys had fun. It's such a stress reliever especially during all this haha. Apparently there is this lake where you can jump off cliffs I'm so excited :D

To be honest the applications should be split into 2 piles.

1 Pile of applications which have absolutely No technicalities at all, the most straight forward cases in the world to process, applications from known countries, like UK, some good places of Europe. These cases would be so easy to process that if the agent reading the application could have it completed within a week and you can have you're PR status...

The other applications pile should include people applying for poor/middle eastern counties, people who have children, how have been married before or who's application will be red flagged straight away for many reasons because its the people and applications like these which are slowing up the whole process for us people who have a normal, clean, easy and perfect application.

From the moment the applications on the desk of the person checking it shouldn't take long to process, he reads it and checks the application, makes sure its a real relationship etc then process it its because of the most complicated cases that delays everyone's

Whoa.. Haven't been here for days and I'm sorry to bring this up again but that comment from jamesdavid is totally made my blood boil! I wish I can tag you jamesdavid so you'll get this message straight to your face.. I do respect your opinion, however you DISGUST me! Your attitude stinks! "Applications from known countries, like UK, some good places in Europe" vs "poor middle eastern countries"????? Who the hell do you think you are?! Just because someone was born and raised from a well-developed country, doesn't mean they are better than those of born from 3rd world countries! CIC is being fair and square so suck it up!

It's upsetting. But seeing most of his other posts I am not surprised. It's gross that somebody actually thinks that way. Very offensive. But if that's the way he likes it then so be it, I guess we will just have to ignore it or report him if it escalates.

I agree Line.a! I'm not surprised either, but I had to say something or else I wouldn't be able to sleep tonight, lol! That way of thinking is just unreal! Gggrrrrr!!! >:( >:(

Anyway forget about the nonsense and just keep waiting patiently... :-\

Nice! Hope you have fun!

I've been reading the 2012 Inland thread as well and you can definitely see movement. That gives me a bit of hope. The wait is geeting so overwhelming that I have been dreaming with CIC. LOL I hope we see more movement this week.

Good morning all! :)

Just a question of opinion - hubby's parents and siblings recently visited for a month from Europe and we have a lot of pictures of us doing things together as a family etc. Is it necessary to send these pictures or even further proof of relationship even if CIC doesn't ask? Or should it just be left alone unless they ask for further proof?

Just wondering is all. I am getting so stressed out lately. Haha.

My opinion is leave it as it is, and then take those pictures with you to the interview. Personally, I won't send anything else unless CIC asks for it. They might get sick of seeing so many pictures of me and my partner. Hahaha I don't know how that works though. Will it delay your application? Will it just sit on a desk and never get to the person that's handling your case? I'd say it would be safer to just hold on to them.

Yeah we paid 90$ for 4 people at a camp ground. But if you don't have a lot of money you can always go backcountry hiking/camping! Some parks allow you to do it for free and others charge like 5-10$. You won't be able to use a campfire but other than that it's a lot of fun :) More like our Scandinavian way of camping I'm sure haha.
