I did not know that I could do it from online? How long does it take and where do I find the online application?

It shows 30 days now. Not as good as it was last summer (less than two weeks).

As for what the CIC Call Centre says, well, I'd take everything they say with caution. More often than not the advice seems of dubious quality.

do you know somebody who has applied online although he/she had already submitted an OWP with the application? because I was told that CIC call center agents recommend not to do so?!

So I got a letter from CIC asking for more stuff today.(No AIP yet )

I am another Sep 16 2013 person.


Could someone help me with the IMM5406 form?

I was told not to send it originally by someone, but I guess that was incorrect.

Anyways so my Canadian GF is sponsoring me, I am wondering how much of this form do I need to fill out?

We have no kids and I'm not bringing anyone with me. For the brothers and sisters section, do I need to include all my family back home?

Does my Canadian GF need to fill another version of this form too with her info?

This form is the only thing you were asked for?
From the forms you need to send originals but if you were asked for proof of relationship/cohabitation, than you don't need to send originals from those.

As for IMM5406 form, only you need to fill this, add your common law partner's data to Section A, write N/A to Section B, and add all of your siblings (half- and step- included) to Section C.



It's very strange that you are the second Sept 16 applicant who was asked for more info while no one else from the end of Aug and the beginning of Sept...

Hi all,

Do you know if medical report is needed in applying for OWP?

I sent the OWP application form along with PR application last year, but without medical report( since it is opinional and we saw some people said it would expired and have to redo later ).

If I get AIP, will I also get OWP prior to the medical check up? Or I have to submit the medical report before getting the OWP? Thank you

P.S. I am Oct 24 2013 applicant, thinking should I go medical check up before request from cic

Maybe they do a quick 'pre scan' on the file first? :-X Ah well, It's all guessing ... CIC is one big mystery
