Also question 3

I am applying for...

A work permit with new employer

Restoration of temporary resident status as worker

Initial temporary resident permit or extension of temporary permit...

I'm just on implied status as my work permit ran out before we sent in our app,so I'm wondering which of these am I now applying for to get my owp?

Any and all help is much appreciated thank ;)

After seeing a lot of confusion for application for OWP is very high and the forms are not so cut and dry, I think CIC should have a form specifically for OWP inland sponsorship. Even I had a lot of trouble finding the correct form for OWP. Didn't need it but it goes to show how hard it to is find the correct application, much less complete the form correctly.

@ Screech:

Can you please let me know, when your wife applied for US visa, for how many years she got the US visitor visa?

My wife has gotten a 10 year US visa. We applied for B2 for tourist visa. They gave her a B1/B2 visa.

We recently went to US. We were brought inside so that they can issue my wife a I-94 card. It is good for 6 months at a time. She can enter/leave US anytime between this period. She must return the I-94 card before the 6 month expire date. So she have to return to US to return the card when returning to US. After that she have to go through it all again, to get a new 6 month I-94 card, every 6 months until she get canadian citizenship.

You can't apply for SIN with AIP. Only if you have OWP or PR card. I thought you have OWP. You need to show your OWP to get your temporary SIN. AIP along with OWP is only good for applying for OHIP.

I completely agree, what do they have to make it so difficult?im sure it's pretty easy to make an extra document just for that, but that would be the right thing to do,and cic don't do that haha

I'm still confused though

I got stuck on this as well. I chose the third one, then wrote out an explanation that I am applying for an OWP and that I have an inland app going (provide those details). I wrote the form number on the top, signed it and stapled it to the form. CIC sees this a lot, and that is a general form so some things don't apply. In those cases I wrote N/A. They WILL figure it out. I got OWP yesterday and that was my method.

Will I get a landing date in the mail or by email? What happens if I can't go on the date they give me? What do they ask me?

Thank you Screech, yes I do....I didn't know I actually need to bring the OWP ???, I will be so shamefully returning back to that office and apologizing for being a little edgy lol.

97% of the time, you will get a landing letter in the mail. If in the event you cannot land on the date given, you have to call CIC back asap and let them know this so they can issue you a new landing date. They will want to know why you can't before granting a new landing date. However I would recommend that you try your best to land on the assigned appointment date. You will likely be put on queue again in getting a new landing date delaying the process. Try to make it smooth as possible.

Congrats on all the AIPs and DMs! Just go my landing interview letter in the mail yesterday (2 days after getting DM and 8 days after AIP.) My landing date is going to be November 7th. There's a light :)

VO: cic fredriction
AR: 11/23/12

DM: 10/21/12
LD: 11/07/13
Congrats Crashwire6!!! your whole process is shorter than 1 year! That's something to celebrate!

If you really are feeling ashamed to return to the same office, you can always go to a different Canada Service Office to save face. I am sure there are more than one offices in Niagara Falls or near by towns.

See I would do this but I'm applying online so can't write a little note like that on it :(
