Hi

I have a confusion about Clients ID if someone can help me. I am the sponsor and I have my ID client since the times I did my immigration papers many years ago. Using this number I can login into eCAS and see that my application was received. But my husband did not do his medicals up-front and we need his client ID for that. So, I called CIC yesterday and then told me that he does not have a client ID yet, since they are only processing the sponsor part of the application and not his PR yet. That his client ID will ge generate once they start processing his PR (I guess after AIP). Does this make sense to you? I thought CIC e-mail client IDs for sponsored persons in the AOR (that by the way, I did not get).

Anyone receiving AIP? It is very quiet here lately!!!

Thanks

Hi Minerva,
what stage is your husband at ?
When did you apply ?
Did you ask CIC about your file number ? As soon as they start looking at the application, they assign a file number

Hi!!

I think that is where the confussion is. Our application was received July 17.. When I login using my client ID I can see two columns. One colum refering to my sponsopship application that says "In process" and when I click there says that my application for sponsorship was received on July 17 and the started processing it on November 1. Now there is a second column refering to my husband PR, that only says Application received July 17.

We did not get AOR or anything, I just tried to login one day with my client ID from the times I did my immigration papers and worked. I will call them and ask for the file number.

Hope this clarify!!!

Thanks

Mini

Hi again:

One more question. I called CIC and got the File Nummer. Since my husband does not have client ID yet, can we go ahead with the File Number and do his medicals or you think we should wait for his Client ID?

Any advice is really appreciated!!

It's possible I did it. If you read many people applied for owp together with PR.

Hi, i am new here. And i need your advise.
I'm going to apply inland (still waiting for the marriage certificate). I'd like to do OWP at the same time. My questions:

1) Need advice. My visitor record is valid till of Feb 13. Should i better extend visitor record first? and then apply for sponsorship together with OWP? I'm afraid in case of any mistakes, they return application and i have to leave the country. The issue- we got married on Oct'27 and it takes a long time (10-12 weeks) to obtain a marriage cetificate here.
2)What form to fill in for OWP? IM5710looks to be the one. But it requires information about intended work in Canada. But i do not have any job offers. Do I just skip this questions? And checklist also requires job offerer and HRSDC..
3)If i do not apply till the end 2012 because of marriage crificate is it ok submitt them the Printout C for 2011? Or i have to submitt the 2012 if they are avilible?

Thanks a lot!

Hey Maya! We have the same concerns:
1.) We used IMM5556 (Extend to stay in Canada as a Worker) We accompanied this with a letter not to process until we were Approved in Principle .. there are 2 boxes to check off there... extend as temp resident and as a worker.

2.) What province are you in? Im in BC.. it was only 3 weeks... Have everything ready and just insert it.
3.) Applying in Dec 2012 would still mean 2011 was your previous tax year... they wont have anything to print out in January for 2012 because you wouldnt have filed your taxes yet. (this is merely my guess)

COMPUTER GEEK... My question... my Husbands visitor Visa expires Feb 6. If I had said dont process OWP until AIP... will they even open it to process to extend his stay as a Temp Resident? eeks

As long as the OWP application was sent along with the PR application your husband is covered by "implied status" until they make a decision on the application.

Thank you Rusty53!-Will sure do! ;)

To Victorswife:

thanks for the reply. I guess they change the form number from time to time. But I do not understand what I am supposed to fill in about job offer. OWP assumes we don't have a job offer.
I applied already for marriage certificate online. Seems that everyone has it earlier. I'm in ON, Burlington.

I'm just really worried to have everything correct. So if I send OWP i ll have implied status. But what if there some mistakes, do they just request for additional info and don't cancel application...

Another advice needed...is it better to send medical check right after application is submitted? Do they match it with my file? Or it's better to wait when CIC requests it?
