My application for Alberta Health was just denied. And they told my husband I need PR first. Even though their website clearly states all I need is a positive first decision on permanent residency. So we are going to try again. This time with my OWP and DM letters. I'll keep you all informed.

R,
What utter rubbish as my Alberta Health was okay on just a visitor visa! Are they confusing your own with you going back as a dependant on your husbands?

What? Are you kidding me?

I think you should go to different registry offices or call them.

Good luck canadianthrower!

I have been checking this website for some time, and decided to put a post on today. My initial application was sent in August 2012. I got AIP in May of this year.

When can I call CIC to ask for a progress report, due to the strike would you guys recommend waiting until the end of January 2014.

14 months on I am losing the will to wait.

What are your thoughts and what is the best number to call to check on my application. I also used a lawyer so will they talk to either the spouse or applicant.

Looks like we have 73 more daily checks to do, it such a lottery. Oh well I suppose we have to keep going. This process certainly tests the resolve of many. Although I new I been following this thread for months, I know our day will come, but it would have been nice to be able to travel at Xmas this year. That hope is fading away.

Re: INLAND APPLICATIONS 2012 -August 2012 Advice

I think you will find that even if you call them, they will tell you that you are well within the stated 2nd stage timeline of 8 months. You can give it a try, but I don't think you will get too far. Yes, they will speak with the applicant about their application. They will not speak to the sponsor about the application though unless you file yet another use of representative form for him/her.

Good luck

I also applied in aug. 2012. Recieved AIP in March. I called cic and they said they are waiting for Paris office to contact them regarding spouses dependant. They did request new medical for dependent which was sent aug.1 2013. Cic stated that there was absolutely nothing wrong with application. Waiting, waiting!!
