I just called CIC and told him that i send my application and wanted to confirm if the application has been recived.. he is like you will only hear after 6 months.

Is this true? Won't I get any confirmation of AOR .. i am little sad now.. i thought they will atleast send me acknowledgement of receiving it...

AIP is usually in 6 months. You will likely receive the AOR (acknowledgement of receipt) in a few weeks, although some people here have not received any and still got AIP. You don't have to call the call center as they will not be able to give you any information. Just be patient

OMG OMG OMG

I just got off the phone with a CIC agent who told me that there was a letter sent on April 18th, and our file was transferred to Etobicoke !!! I asked her does that mean there is a decision made, she said she can't tell on her computer she said can only see a letter was sent. So I asked her if it was a good thing that the file was transferred she said yes, its usually a good thing !!!

So does is it a good thing ??? Do the deny an stage 2 approval and send it to the local office ????

Or are WE DONE !!!! ???????

Sounds like a DM letter on the way at any moment. Let us know when you get the official email so we know the date.

No worry! I havent received even 1 email from CIC. I just use my ID which is on my study permit to check ecas. As soon as you see they update on Ecas is fine

Anyone that applied for owp in February by mail got it yet? It was received Feb 23, really wish I'd applied online looking at the processing times.

I called cic the other day, I had my medical Feb 21 and ecas has never showed it being received but the agent told me they had received it and are working on background checks! Fingers crossed it is all finished soon!!

I'm wondering now if we should still send in our OWP app as the lady told me they are working on 72 working days. We might have an appointment before then. Any thoughts.

I have a question - how long after the DM the local office sets a date for landing interview? I mean when I am supposed to hear from them about the date of interview?
I only received a letter to pay for the right of permanen residence fee - so we paid and faxed the proof. now what?

As for applying for OWP, I still think it is not worth applying for it especÍally after getting a DM. Not sure where your landing office would be, could be scarborough or etobicoke. The leadtime according to CIC for Etobicoke when I called is 7-8 weeks for landing. It seems pointless to spend 150 for OWP at this time. This is my opinion though.

Mine was received feb 15th and nothing yet! -CIC told me I should hear back at the end of the month!....it shows they are working on applications received on jan 11 so who knows when they'll process ours!

After the DM email , you will receive snail mail in about two weeks. Regularly the landing appointment will be in about a month unless you are in Calgary, my landing appointment is not after 3 1/2 months! . You must bring a copy of your receipt of permanent residence fee.

I wish I gotten a snail mail after 2 weeks. But it has been 3.5 weeks yet since I heard anything from Etobicoke office.
