Hello there everyone! I hope everyone is doing well. Sorry for not being here the past couple of days. Hubby has had 4 days off from work lately and I am basking in it. Lol. I love spending time with him like this. Also, I am very sorry but this will be a long post. I just wanted to reply to everyone and not leave them out. Looks like an update for the chart should be coming up again soon. I can't promise it will be today since I am spending hubby's last day off with him but I am sure it will be tomorrow. Good luck to all of you and keep your heads up.

Asta: Well at least there is a line letting you know they are still working on it. I think you will be landing in no time or at least I pray that you will. FOSS notes would be a good idea though. And I know what you mean, I haven't been home in almost 2 years in March and I know even after AIP I will be wishing to land quickly. I will be thinking of you girl and you know I wish you all the luck in the world.

AmandaHsu: Aww you are so very welcome. And you will definitely provide help to all one day. I know it. And yes that was the site I was talking about for ECAS. I would be like you to and check CIC every day anyway. Lol. We all understand where you are coming from. And I am so glad you liked the picture. I just had to share it with all of you. Lol.

canamconnect: I understand your worrying before sending off the application as I have been there before. I really hope you will try to stay positive though. My advice is to not try and let other peoples stories get to you. Everyones story is unique and beautiful. I know that you will showcase it so that the IO can see that without question. Really now all you have to worry about is sending it off and waiting. We will be here to help you through the hard times and celebrate during the good times.

Mark_Anna: Hi to you too. Thanks for that update. By the looks of things it is very normal to get that client history update. I guess they just want to make sure everything is still the same or current. I guess I will be expecting one to be sent to me too but probably in February since that will be 7 months since they have had mine. I would just fill out the form as best as you can and send it back right away. Nothing to worry about. Good luck and I will be waiting for the day I hear you get AIP.

rhysmdavies84: Congrats on finally getting your OWP. It definitely sounds like you should be landing very soon. Keep your head up and I am sure that letter will come in the next week or two. Please let us know when you get it and what date you land and where. Good luck to you.

hi all!

i've been lurking through this forum for a while but haven't actually registered. it's a good way to keep myself up to date as to how fast CIC is at processing our applications, apart from viewing my status online

here's some info:

App received: May 10, 2010
App processed: July 19, 2010

i'm currently on a WHP from australia, and it will be expiring in March this year. I wasn't able to submit an OWP application together with my PR application so right now all i'm doing is waiting for my AIP so that i can apply for an OWP, which hopefully i should receive by February. quick question though - in the application form for the OWP it asks for when you want the permit to be valid until. should i just leave the date blank and specify in the notes section that i want it valid "until permanent residency has been granted"?

A big welcome to the newbies in the thread! Is someone preparing to update the list? Otherwise I wouldn't mind doing that.

Not so long ago I have been doing some research with dates and Excel. I've found out that if CIC Vegreville continues on it's current speed of progressing, AIP might be given in 5 months after opening the envelope. That's really something to hope for, since it makes a total of 7 months of waiting, in stead of 8-9 (like the website says). Don't hope too much, as for it could simply have been a month with a lot less demands for sponsorship. But it does give a moment of relief.

cutieshashie: Welcome to the thread. Nice to have new members and glad you joined us. Hope we can make this wait easier for you. When I update the chart, I will put you on there as well. Can't wait until you receive AIP. We will celebrate with you.

Jurjen: How did you come to figure this out? This seems very interesting. I wish it were true though because that would mean I would have less than a month to go but I don't. I am not sure they would process around 7 months but it would seem that they are processing closer to 8 months that is for sure. Keep your chins up. Here is to hoping the times go down.

Hi everyone, I've been lurking here from time to time but not posting anything, because I know it will be a long time before I hear anything.

It's been so great to read about the slew of AIPs and landing interviews in the past week or two! It's really uplifting to see so much good news, and it gives the rest of us confidence that our day will come.

And Amanda - thanks for posting that link to the ecas tracker! I didn't realize there was a site that would track it for you - I have been fruitlessly attempting to log into CIC from time to time. Now I've signed up for it and I can try to stop thinking about it... (ha, yeah right!)

I know the day is coming soon when they may open the envelope I sent them - so exciting to think that someone will actually look at that huge stack of papers!

Hi All,

Well- I'm still waiting for an AIP!

We received a letter asking for more proof that we have lived together for a year previous to our application, which we sent a week ago- does anyone have any experience of doing this? Is it a long wait after that for them to make a decision? I know our evidence is solid, as our driver's licenses and bills etc. are all dated over a year before our application, and show our addresses as being the same, however I have a potential employer who is willing to only wait approx another week before giving my job to someone else. I mentioned this in the letter we sent a week ago to CIC, and as the job is pretty specialised I was quite hopeful...

Am I just panicking? Should I relax, seeing as the job offer still has one more week to go? Does anyone have experience with this?

Yodabob: Our dates are practically identical! I sent my app 31st March, received April 1st, started June 16th. The request for more docs was dated Dec 23rd, but we only received it in the mail after the holidays. Have you heard anything since you sent the additional info? How long ago was that?

Sorry for firing a million questions, I was just looking forward to starting this job as it really is tailor-made for my experience and qualifications. Fingers crossed!
