Me too , Im just waiting also for good news ( hopefully ) its been more than 2 years now since I applied inland.

those dickwads in vegerville are pathetic excuses for human beings.....the more i get involved in this process the more i am coming to believe that 2 years is more likely the real time frame....it is no wonder they make it so hard to get weapons in canada or these b astards would need escorts home from work...vegerville is a very small town..............and yes do not believe anything those even more useless call agents tell you..........if you talk to 5 of them you get 5 different stories........
I was born in this country...my wife and i were married in this country...and we get NO advantage in the process.....11 months and counting..........

My hubby too is a Canadian Citizen, born here , all his family born here , we were married here too . Seems like a lot of BS to me CIC , why dont they be honest and tell you approx 2 years for the whole process ..grrrrr they piss me off to the hilt ! I miss my family in UK and feel depressed as I feel like a prisoner with no rights , and being held and bribed if I take the chance of leaving while PR is in process I may not get back in...well WTF ..i PAY MY TAXES , I WORK , I SPEND MONEY HERE..what do these people want from you ..a nervous break down so you can become a burden on the state ? GRRRR I am so angry ..sorry !

Been a while since I last posted. So much has happened here that I don't even know where to begin to type. I would write to each individual person but then someone might feel left out and it could end up being a really long message. I just want to say CONGRATS to all of you that have gotten some kind of news no matter how big or little. To those with not so much good luck, keep your head up and keep pushing on, don't let these guys get to you. If you need a bit of extra encouragement just let me know on here or in a private message and I will work hard to bring your spirits up. I want you to never feel alone in this. And to everyone still waiting for PR or AIP, your day is coming very soon I promise and it will be wonderful news. Just make sure when your day comes to come back here and celebrate with us.

Anyway, on a side note I did notice that someone posted in the "sticky" thread that their application was received on April 23, 2010 and they got "decision made" on January 27, 2011, I believe. You can go look to see. You might have to look a few pages back though. I just wanted to post that to show you that they are obviously working past that April 20th date so we should keep our spirits up for sure. That makes at least two people I have heard past that date getting AIP. So May people keep your spirits up, your day is getting very close.

And onto another side note, hubby will be going part time in about two more weeks but this week is his last official full time week. I might not be here all the time as I am thinking that if there is a small chance that we are refused that at least I know I spent as much time with him before having to leave. Though I am trying not to think of the chances. Based on the chart and other forums, it seems slim. I hope this holds true for us. Also, my 21st birthday is almost two weeks away. We are using our $150 gift certificate for a hotel room that his parents got us for Christmas, for my birthday and we also bought another night too. So I am looking forward to having two calm nights away from the house and nothing to think about but having a good time. I can't wait. And I got my mom her birthday gifts the other day and will be mailing it off on Monday hopefully. Her birthday is 4 days after mine. I am hoping she will like the gift but I am sure she will. I am so excited to see what she got me. She said it is a very heavy box and it costs like $50 priority to mail it here. I can't wait because her gifts are awesome. Well I guess I should go and stop rambling about myself so much. I just wanted to keep you up to date on us. I would like to hear what all of your plans are or what you are up to. Hope you are doing good.

ATTENTION: Chart Update (read below for details)


You may have noticed that I made some noticeable changes to the chart. I added a new column that I thought you all would find beneficial. It lists the total time it took for a member to get AIP. I feel this will help give another accurate look into how long it could "realistically" take for us to get AIP ourselves instead of relying fully on CIC since we all know their charts aren't always that reliable. I added two new members komar and lemony_20 to our chart. WELCOME! I also removed one member from the chart as they were from Dec 09 and didn't apply in 2010. I thought this was adding to some confusion. So I think that is all for now but I hope you like the new addition of a column and find it helpful during the wait. Good luck everyone!

P.S. From the new column I have gather the following information: 17 people got AIP in less than 9 months, 10 people got AIP in less than 10 months, and 2 people got AIP after 10 months (only due to transfer). From the looks of things most receive AIP from 8 months to 9 1/2 months.

my neighbor, who is philpino and also in the process told me she watched a documentary the other night about the canadain immigration system etc etc........regarding the office in vegreville, alberta they said there are only EIGHT (8) case workers there working on more than ONE (1) MILLION files.....i find that almost impossible to believe but may account for there slowness and stupidity.......

I don't really believe that, that would mean each case worker would have to process 12,500 files per month. I do know Vegreville is slow, but I know they have more then 8 people working there. Stay positive. As for the processing timeframes on the CIC website, they are probably well ahead of what they are saying, like Blackberry said. It's valentines day and we can be with our spouses, thank goodness. Happy Valentines day everyone! :-*

The additional information I got is the date of RCMP check request, for some reason reason I have two dates(?) one in November and december.

Hello everyone!

I have received finally that work permit so yay for that. So it took them 1 work day to send me a replacement so that is something positive.
I do have a question though, am I supposed to have SIN number now, when I got my work permit or do I have to wait for it? I mean, I thought that some temporary SIN would be listed on my work permit paper, but I cant find it, am I looking wrong to it or?

Your SIN won't be on your work permit. They are separate govt depts. You will need to go to service Canada with your work permit and apply for the SIN.
