Inland application with Open Work Permit.

Hello everyone,

Good Day.

Is there any new update regarding the processing or releasing of open work permit with inland spouse application?
based on what i've searched, The open work permit will be given after 9 months with the first stage of approval of inland spouse application.

My questions are:

1: It still the same? you will be given your OWP after 9 months? I just want to help my wife. She's the only one working.
2: Im on a tourist visa and my duration of stay will end in may. My visa will expire on july. When can i get my extension of stay? after filing the inland spouse sponsorship.
3: Is there any other way or options i can get an OPW fast?

No, if you look at the inland threads, you'll see that the pilot project was extended and that most applicants get their OWP within about 4 months of sending the application. The applicant must be in status in order to qualify for the OWP.

What if i've send my inland application in march together with OWP, so after 4 months (July) im gonna received my open work permit. but by that time my duration of my stay as a tourist is expired? what im gonna do? my duration of stay is up to end of may only.

If you send the OWP application and sponsorship package together, you will have implied status until a decision is made on your OWP.
