My spouse was originally in Canada (from Brazil) on a Study Visa. When that was nearing its expiration we changed her status to visitor(visitor record) so that we could begin the spousal sponsorship process. We sent in the application for sponsorship as well as an application for an open work permit. She has a valid ETA, and assuming she gets approved for an open work permit, will that allow her to re-enter the country if she were to leave for a few days to attend an important family event (while we wait for an response on her sponsorship application)?
