Hello,

I am Canadian, living in Quebec, I met my wife through one internet forum (we share a common passion) one year and half ago and after two trips, she moved with me and my children in Montreal in January 2018, she has a multi entries visitor visa, we renewed it beginning of June by traveling abroad together.
We were married last week end and we want to start the sponsorship application.
If the sponsorship process is quite clear, it is not regarding her status in Canada during the application.
Should she apply for a open work permit or an extension of her visitor status ? Do we must wait for the confirmation of the sponsorship application before applying for the extension ? Her visitor visa expires on December 1st.

Thank you,

Thank you,
You can apply for both (visa extension and OWP with inland sponsorship) and there is no conflict. A lot of people do that in case they get the OWP application returned and lost the imply status. You can apply for extension 30 days or up to the day before her visitor status expires. (stamp given by immigration at entry or 6 months from last entry if no stamp was given)
