Thanks Johanna, sure I'll keep you updated. Your day is closer and closer too. I'm hunting jobs right now even though I don't know when my OWP will come ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Anyhow, I won't put too much hope into job hunting tho, I know it's tough. I'll give myself 6 months to see what I can do, and after that if nothing goes well, I'll have the backup plan to go back to school. By the way, a lot to do too in the mean time. If you have a diploma or certificates from your country, you may want to convert them to the equivalent ones in Canada now. I hesitated so much (cause of the cost), and now I have to sit down to deal with it.

How were your vacation? Would be nice to hear your sharing too.

Hi all, I just wanna say thanks to everybody here. everyone is very helpful. this site is informative and makes a difference.

I received my AIP july, 21 with the same letter they asked for a photocopy of my travel document or passport. I got a travel document (since the passport would take 3 months) they received the copy of my travel document yesterday (Friday).. any idea of how long it would take for them to reopen the file and how long it may take for a second stage?

I have a similar case. I sent the passport June 1st and they received it( open it) July 3rd and still waiting till now

WOW! it took them over a month to open the mail? that's a long time, 2 months later still nothing hmm I wonder why. I hope you are close because that would give me a time table.

sure no problem. around jan, they asked me about my past address and my past work or something. then when I got my AIP in july in the same letter they asked me for a photocopy of my "passport or travel document" because originally when I applied my application I didn't include a copy of my " valid passport or travel document" because the embassy wasn't issuing them. so I got a new travel document last week which is good for 6 months and sent them a photocopy since passport would take a long time to issue.

June 08th,I sent additional documents including copy of my passport, medical, criminal record. Since then I am still waiting of my 2nd approval. Almost 3 months.

did they ask you for medical again? or you didn't have it included originally when you applied your application?

in may case when I applied I included the copy of my medicals as one package, in my ecas says "medical received" and they haven't asked about it. it sounds like when they request for additional info it takes them a good while to open the file up

Congrats Tinch, so it took you 3 months sharp for the 2nd stage including landing interview in Etobicoke! Now you're free from PR stuff.

July 22, 2011: AIP received and a (photocopy of passport or travel document was requested)
Aug, 2011: requested photocopy of travel document sent.
Sep, 2011: ...... Waiting
