Hi angtao!

Yes, I´ll surely keep it updated until the end.
I have one question: How do you know when the status is "In Proccess"? Do you get it through e-CAS?
What information do I have to use? Receipt number?

Thanks!

...and regarding what am i doing to help pass the time, volunteer job is a great option. Not only to spend some time doing something valuable to the community, but also to get "Canadian Experience", necessary to get a job here when you get the work permit.

I found mine here: http://www.volunteertoronto.ca/

And PS3 helps a lot too! :D

Cheers!

Yumamy, right now it takes around 9.5 months to get AIP but a lot of people are being approved for both at the same time.

Weerth, have you ever applied for any extensions through CIC such as an extension of a visitors permit? There is a client id number in the top right hand corner that you can use. It looks like this xxxx-xxxx.

Then you go on to e-cas and check your status. If you have never applied for anything before then you can try calling CIC in a few weeks and they will give you your client id number.

Thanks again angtao!

I´ve never applied for anything else before, so I´ll wait and call them in a couple weeks.

Cheers!

Hi Everyone,

I am here in Canada as a visitor visa. I have another 6 months visitor visa. My Wife is Canadian and we moved from UK to here. We are going to apply from Canada in country. So could anyone tell me that once we applied for the first stage, while waiting for the approval can i apply for work permit?
