Hi forum friends,

I work in Canada at the moment. I will need to exit Canada and re-enter it in order to do my landing for the purpose of PR.
I was wondering if it is possible to exit Canada in the border with USA but to not enter USA just to exit Canada and Enter back.
I do not have visa for USA and do not want to wait for the whole application process.
I was wondering if it is possible to drive to the border exit canada and just come back from the same exit and do the landing?
Can anyone point me in a direction as to where to find available information?
Or should I just drive to the border and ask the border officers?
Is this a stupid idea?

It's called flagpoling and is a common method of "landing". You go to the US side, tell them that you are flagpoling and they send you back with an "administrative refusal" slip. Very simple.

That is awesome :)
Would that affect my future application for us visitor visa?
Can I do that with a car. Meaning I drive with my car and get refused I can go in reverse and enter Canada? right?
Or I need to park my car before canadian border?

No adverse effects on future US visa. You would be turned round, not reversed. However, if you can, walk over rather than take the car.
