Thanks OhCanadiana. very helpful. I will check OP6.

You are welcome; happy to help.

To build on my note yesterday, one more thing to consider is that the applicant instructions establishes that medical is only asked for after the selection criteria have been met. In the "What Happens Next" section, toward the end of the document, EG7000 states:
“Instructions
If you meet the selection criteria, you will receive medical forms for yourself (and any family members), and instructions on how to access a list of doctors in your area who are authorized to conduct immigration medical examinations (see below). You cannot undergo the medical examination before you submit your application forms.“

Zakout - yeah, I guess I got a bit lucky. So my friend did confirm that it was my medical instructions that came, along with another PCC request.

Mutazaabbasi - I probably got my IELTS exempted because i have lived and studied in english speaking countries. I wrote a pretty good letter of proficiency arguing my case. Perhaps they will realise that they made a mistake and ask me anyway.

OhCanadiana - oh that is good news. perhaps they won't ask me for my IELTS then. Thanks! My friend did confirm that I got the medical request so I guess maybe the IELTS requests will be over now.

Hi Maaties,

CONGRATULATIONS!!
Your file is on the right track.

GOOD LUCK for the next steps!!

Thanks for reply.

Hey Buddy,

Congrats..

If you got medical request that means you don't need IELTS anymore. But you do need to go for PCC again if it is expired I think.

At last you got it after a long wait...I know that.

I am overseas at the moment for a job interview. My friend received a letter from the visa saying
they completed the initial assessment of my application and giving me details about the next step:
* medical examination within the next 60 days
* Police record: new/updated FBI within 90 days

Does that mean, they have accepted my language proficiency argument (as I did not do IELTS).

;D Congrats - now off to the hard decisions of what you are going to do! At the very least, you get to keep your options open for a few years which is a good thing. Good luck with the job interview in the meantime!

Thanks CanadaP, OhCanadiana.

I can't believe I got so lucky and didn't have to do IELTS. Really surprising at a time when they seem to get more strict on IELTS.

Finally, read the letter. Interview waived for now.

I am curious if anyone knows how long FBI PCC takes nowadays. They have asked for a new one.

congrats rupesh, it's been a long wait but you are getting there slowly. hope you sail through smoothly :)
