Hey guys,

I have been in the pool since last December with 405 points and I just logged in to add my self-employed work that I'm currently doing.
So I added that I started in February as a web developer and it is my current job and I checked the self employed option.
After doing so I got a message saying I am no longer eligible.
Can anyone explain what is going on? I was going to use this to get to 3 years of work experience and thus get a lot more points because with 405 I will never get selected.

I've read many times on this forum that self employed work counts, is this not true?

I think self employment through EE is different from FSW which is paid employment.

You cant mix both

Work Experience
For the principal applicant:
• Letters of reference from all your employers for the past 10 years.
Letters must be:
• written on company letterhead,
• signed by the responsible officer/supervisor,
• show the company's full address, telephone and fax numbers, e-mail and website addresses,
• stamped with the company's official seal (if applicable).
Letters must include all of the following information:
• the specific period of your employment with the company,
• the positions you have held during the period of employment and the time you spent in each position,
• your main responsibilities and duties in each position,
• your total annual salary plus benefits in each position, and
• the number of hours worked per week in each position.
• Additional supporting documents may include:
• copies of work contracts, and
• copies of pay stubs.
If you and/or your accompanying spouse or common-law partner have engaged in full-time work in Canada,
with appropriate authorization, for a period of at least one year in the past 10 years, provide:
• letter(s) of reference (as per requirements stated above) from your past Canadian employer(s),
• a copy of any T4s if available,
• a copy of the employment authorization.
Important: when submitting your tax information, be sure to black out your Social Insurance Number (SIN) to protect
this personal information.
Note: Self-employed individuals must provide documentation from 3rd party individual(s) indicating the service
provided along with payment details. Self-declared main duties or affidavits are not acceptable evidence of
work experience.

Try removing the self employment and see if you are eligible again then you will know what is the issue. AFAIK, you cant mix employment and self employment for points.

Can anyone confirm that I can't add 4 months of self-employment to my application or hopefully tell me otherwise?

I see topics like: www . canadavisa . com (slash) canada-immigration-discussion-board (slash) is-self-employed-work-exp-counted-t402964.0 . html
so I'm very much confused about this now.

PS: I'm hoping I'm allowed to add this link since it's a link to this forum.

You can add links after you have posted a certain number of posts.

You can use it and it should increase your CRS but only assuming this is foreign work experience.

Adding this experience shouldn't have made your profile ineligible as it wouldn't affect your eligibility 67/100 points.

You have to tell us what other changes you made.

It's foreign work experience for 1 month self-employed that I added (and marked as current work).
I actually logged in to my account after I read someone else's post on FB saying they got a message stating their application was ineligible after logging in and not changing anything. I haven't tried it myself yet but she says she can't create a new profile either.

Personally I didn't change anything other than add that work experience. Am I supposed to delete my application and create a new one now?

Create a new profile, you can't delete an ineligible profile.
