I have a query regarding the requirement of work experience for applying for the work permit in Canada.
I have just finished my PhD in India and an employer in Canada is ready to offer me a job. The problem is for the work permit, the Canadian government needs me to have a work experience of atleast 12 months. I have a 13 months of work experience in a multinational company in India, but it was from 2012 to 2013, after which I was pursuing my PhD till 2019 june.
Will this work experience be counted as one year experience while applying for the work permit? Or do they have any rule that the experience should be within a specified time period before entering Canada?
