Hi,

I have applied under CEC, but didn't submit my PCC along with the application. However , I requested for PCC in toronto on Aug 30, and now after six weeks which is the processing time given in their website still I have not received my passport and PCC. Is there anyone else who have faced similar problem and received their PCC after six weeks.?

thanks

Given processing times are usually the average of previous applications. That means, that most application were processed
in this amount of time, some quicker and some slower.
Try to contact the office where you applied and ask for information.

I had applied for PCC on 20th-April (~6 months before) and have not received yet but have spoken to commissioner office at my home town and they have processed my PCC and it is on the way to CGI-Toronto.

Usually PCC application takes 4-6 weeks but if you have your passport issued under Tatkal scheme then there would be definite delay in your PCC... better way is to check with your home town local police station abt your application and if you can't wait further once you get your AOR then quickest way is to get your PCC from India, should not take more than 2-3 weeks.

But if you are currently in Canada ,then do you think CIC will accept PCC issued from India?
As thats what CIC site says

Local Requests

For districts other than the Punjab:
Applicants should contact the local Senior Superintendent of Police/ Superintendent of Police/ Commissioner or Deputy Commissioner of Police, the Additional Commissioner of Police, or the Station House Officer (Police clearance certificate issued by the Regional Passport Office are also acceptable.

For residents of the Punjab:
Only the Senior Superintendent of Police or the Regional Passport Office may sign a Police Clearance Certificate.

Non-Resident Requests
Applicants should contact the Indian embassy or consulate.

Yes, there are cases where PCC from India has been accepted without any rejection.

Can anyone else confirm this ,as I am submitting my PR application next week and also going to India for vacation next weekend ,so if they accept the PCC from India then I can get it from India during my vacation ,and how long is PCC valid 6 months or what?

As i will be waiting for AOR before i can submit PCC.

Hello letstry, it would be better if you submit the application without PCC now and get the PCC when you visit India on vacation. All PCCs are valid for 1 year, the moment you get the AOR, you can submit the PCC along with the file number (AOR number)

best way to apply for indian pcc is tell your parents to apply on your behalf in india

they need your picture, affidavit from parents saying my son/Daugtr.. for immigration

and their Id proofs and you will get in 7-10 days and then they can courier it to u.

this what i did for my app.

Is your original passport not required for obtaining PCC from India?

If u try to get it from Passport office then yes you have give ur passport.

But if u try to get it from Police commission and all that then its not required.
