Indian Passport renewal

Hi,

My friend from india has 14 months left on his passport. He just graduated and now has only 90 days to apply for Post grad work permit. The indian embassy in toronto wont renew his passport unless its 1 year left to expiry. Does anyone one know how to go around it.

You still have time you can either wait 2 more months( 60 days) and apply for a fresh passport you can get a new one within 10 wrking days, you have to apply through VFS Canada, or

apply for pg work permit with the current passport.

If you are in toronto try going to the Indian Consulate on Bloor Street and plead your case may be they might do something
