Indian Passport renewal without valid status

My passport is expiring on 4th September 2017 and I am not able to renew it because I do not have a valid status right now as I have gone into restoration because my Post-Graduation work permit was rejected and I am not able to further process because my passport is expiring in 3 months and I need atleast 1 year validity of my passport to get a new work permit or study permit.

I have heard that consulate of India renews the passport for 2 years without proper validity but I am not able to reach the phone number provided by them.
If there is any other way please do share.
Anyone having some knowledge or experience about such situations please help me.

Restoration apps can take many months to process and with your passport expiring in Sept, there is pretty much no chance you will be approved.

You need to leave Canada before your passport expires.
