Hello,

My husband and I are currently in the process of an completing an outland spousal sponsorship. I know that if you are sponsoring your spouse with no dependent children, there are no income requirements. Does the same rule apply if the spouse has non-accompanying dependent children? My husband has two kids from a previous relationship who will be staying in Mexico to live with their mother and continue their schooling.

Also, my parents have said they would be willing to assist my husband and I financially if I, as the sponsor, was determined to not be making enough income to satisfy the immigration process. Is this something that would be considered? Or would financial gifts from family members have no impact?
Any advice on the matter would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi

There is no minimum income requirement. You need to show IRCC that you can support yourselves without welfare. If you don't think you can do that, you can show financial assistance from your parents.

Note that the children must be fully declared and included in the app.
