Hi there, everyone.
I had previously asked in another post whether outbound or inbound spousal sponsorship would be better suited for my family considering our circumstances. I originally considered inbound to be our best option, but now I’m contemplating doing outbound.
I am Canadian and my husband is from America. We were married in 2019 and had twins in 2020. He arrived in August 2020 for their birth and applied for a visitor visa extension in February that was just approved today. He is allowed to stay until February 2022. Can we still apply outbound despite him being in Canada currently? We know he can’t work while this application is pending, but he can file another extension to stay beyond the February 2022 date, correct? And can still travel to and from the States should he have to for family obligations? Is the only perk to inbound the ability to apply for a work permit?
any help would be greatly appreciated!

Yes - you can apply outland. Yes - he can apply for another extension.

Yes - he can travel to the US. Technically there is never a guarantee that he will be readmitted to Canada if he leaves. However he should be fine provided he's not coming and going too often.
