Hi all, in the process of completing our application for Inbound sponsorship and have just realised that my partner who is sponsoring me has no valid identification he is Canadian and holds a Canadian passport which is 20 years old and expired, he has never renewed it, he has carte maladie card(also expired!) :o he was born in america (his father is canadian and mother american but he came to Quebec at one month old) how will this affect our application?
(He has been lecturing me for months about keeping all my details safe and up to date and now we find out this! :P)

Will hiss passport work for us even though it's expired or is it better to renew? I currently have implied status waiting for a processing of a six month extension so we are keen to send off this application before the return of that request.

Even without a sponsorship application...your sponsor really should have valid ID...right? ;)

This really is a no-brainer. Tell him to renew his passport.

As a matter of fact, he needs to provide a copy of his valid passport (bio page) with the Inland application!
This is item #13 on the Document Checklist.
