I submitted my application Feb 2012 Outland. Ottawa requested my passport about a month ago. I just checked my Ecas and it has moved to In Process.
For the love of god please tell me that my application has not been sitting there the whole time and now it's in process and could take another year per current processing times?!
Anyone with any experience?

Processing times start from when the visa office receives your file... not when they start processing it.

If you submitted in Feb 2013 I assume Ottawa received file transfer after sponsor approval around March 2013. So it would now be 7+ months and counting for your Ottawa processing time.

Do you mean Feb 2012 or Feb 2013?

If they requested for your passport it usually means a positive thing and that you should be receiving your passport with the visa to land us immigrant in Canada soon. Unless, it was a different specific reason they requested your passport for.

Also, I have learnt from the forums here, apparently when the status changes from "Application Received" to "In-process" it means that you are nearly at the end of the process and should hear from them on the decision made soon.

Sorry did mean Feb of this year.
I do see on the Feb Outland thread that some others from the US have already landed. Hope it's getting closer for me. Although, I guess you never know.
