Pretty quick. How did you get it? Please share. Thanks.

As per the CIC rule, if applicant completes medical examination by 01 September 2010 then his/her Immigration Visa validity would remain till 31 August 2011 (one year from the date of medical examination). So, to obtain Permanent Residency the said applicant has to land Canada before September 2011.

Now, this is the predicament:

I am likely to begin a graduate program in the US from spring 2011.
The possible program time line is- Jan 2011 to September 2012.
Now, is there any provision to extend the visa validity period, so I can enter Canada hopefully upon completion of the program? (It’s written on the Med Request Letter that the extension of the visa validity is not permissible. Notwithstanding this, would appreciate your comment on possible avenues that I could explore.)
For the time being, I am planning to enclose with med and processing fees a Cover Letter explaining my circumstances and placing a formal request for an extension consideration.

Would appreciate if you could shed some light on this rather intricate matter.
Will welcome any suggestion wholeheartedly.

Thank you

IG,

hi Ranjha

thank for the detailed post, but what exactly do u mean?

you wrote "in process means after receiving ur file they give it a BRING FORWARD DATE" where they open the file before a panel. So "In Process" means opening up the file before a panel?

then you wrote "after that they label it (the file?) as IN PROCESS".
so now "IN PROCESS" means they have opened ur file and checked you are under a NOC?

what exactly is "IN PROCESS" ????

does it mean they are opening up your file to check and verify your NOC and the documents as per the first part of your post?

or does it mean they have already opened up your file and completed checking your NOC and documents as per the second part of your post?

thank you very much and eagerly awaiting for your enlightening!

mmmmmmmm no

in process means after receiving ur file they give it a BRING FORWARD DATE,,,on that date the file is opened before a panel,,,which includes visa officer also,,,,they check if u r falling under a NOC which in=s in the list and check that are u having 67 points

and after that they label it as IN PROCESS and send ur file for verification agencies,,,,,now ur file will be opened at a date and reviewed with ur background checks and the u will be granted medicals

so basically it means that u have passed the points hurdle and u are falling under a NOC which is in demand

hope it will help....
