Hi Friends,

My application is with CHC, New Delhi....the status got changed to 'In Process'.....the details given are ' Your application was reviewed and we started processing on April 7, 2010'

My question is how much time ideally it would take to complete this process...and I getting a request for Medical examination...

Thanks for your help!!!

Regards

IN PROCESS - is the longest status, it will be their during medicals also and upto the final decision. You will receive medicals within next 30 days

Lol... No doubts, that is the longest status. I've had that since 2007 and looks like it's never going to change.

Good Luck.

Thanks a lot for your replies.....

Just two follow up questions....

(1) Generally what docs are verified by CHC, New Delhi during the 'processing'

(2) How CHC informs about Medical....through email, post etc?

Hi panks
you can see in my sig and profile that I got hanged "In process" for nearly 60 days and i know someone in this forum waiting at this stage for enormous time (more than a year!!)!! On the other hand someone gets Medical request less than a week after being "In process".... Not sure what really make or count this waiting so long for someone.... Gone through some explanation of Quorax about bckg chk but still this standard process does vary a lot between applicant and also between visa offices...As advised by many in this forum that presentation and organization of docs makes the process faser. I thought I did present all my docs very organized with marking and grouping docs belongs together according to instruction manual of CIC but still no good bring it to me so far. Nothing to do Just crossing finger..... lets pray for each other..... as ultimately its all about luck what I believe !!

Regards,

Most of the time all the documents are verified by responsible team before actual "in process " status. During in process status "VISA OFFICER" review the application and if get satisfied with the comments of responsible team (lower staff) , then issue the Medicals and PP request just after that.
In my case "in process" status started on 24.3.2010, and on 25.3.2010 By God's Grace, they sent me the PP, Medicals request. This thing is highly variable but usually they sent medical+pp request just within a week of 'in process' status.

Medical request is sent through registered post.

This is something i have never heard of before..

Thanks....

One more quick one....As medical request is sent by CHC via Registered post....do they update the same on the website as well....

Regards,

Panks,

There is no update on ECAS... In my case it was "Received by Visa Office" for a month and then I received letter from CHC requesting medical and passports. Next day I check ECAS and status was changed to "In Process".
