In process before AOR is received?

Hello everyone!

Just thought, how can you check the status of your application online even before you got your AOR with your file number? it's totally new for me so it would be much appreciated if someone will make some order regarding this issue please.
I just see on people's signatures that they mention "in process" even before the AOR is received.
In addition, "received line disappeared", why and when? what is that mean?

hi, who are an applicants from Hamilton.
I sent my application on Mar. 19/204
Received Mar./2014
Sent me the Book and starting the process on May 08/2014
test and interview : still waiting.
Do you have any idea about citizenship application in Hamilton
Is it normal process or what.

It is too early to worry about, even before getting AOR but you can always login to e-cas, the online tool to check status of your case. See my left panel link if you don't know how.

If your login is correct and status is updated to GCMS (CIC computer system), you will be able to see the details there, otherwise some error messages like " We are unable to check your status at this time bla bla....."

In my case AOR was mailed (postal mail, not email) on a Thursday and my e-cas was up on Thu/Fri. I was able to see status on Fri night but received postal delivery only on Tuesday. Situations like this may be what you are referring as even before "AOR".
