I'm having a bit of a problem understanding how to handle this.

For IMM0008, the GENERIC APPLICATION FORM FOR CANADA, it asks me for my current country of residence as well as 'from' and 'to' -- It's an in-land process and I plan on staying here throughout it however it asks me for a 'to' date. I have previously been told to fill it in by hand with, 'Present' to say I still live here but leaving it blank on the .pdf file causes the file to not validate and thus not give me a bar code, at least that is how I believe it works.

I received my extension just a few weeks ago and I have a new expiry date in May, however I'm afraid if I use that as the 'To' that I might run into some problems in the future since I would still be here due to the implied status I'd receive on sending the spousal sponsorship application out.

Can I get some input on this? I am rather worried about it.

I would put the visa expiry date

have you tried to Validate the form without filling in the date in 'TO' column? If it does not validate then you can write the current date or expiration date in May (one of the members posted about doing so).
