What a disaster in Japan. I never thought that such a big catastrophe Japan will face. I do not know how to express what we have been through and the families which ............. :'( aaahhhhh We have seen death in front of our eyes. It's a miracle that we are safe but i am so worried for the people who got stuck. No water, not enough food in stores. Gas stations are closed. Few are open but they are only filing it up 1/4 of tank. We spent all night outside at 7 eleven because roof of our house is broken which is not safe. Aftershocks are getting strong day by day. Lights go off for 3-4 hrs everyday and its so cold. God help people of Japan. We are in Ibaraki Ken and Fukoshima Nuclear Plant is around 175-200 km away from our house. Due to earthquake of 9 magnitude there was a complete blackout ..I just dont know how to explain I can only ask you to pray for Japan... I don't know what will happen to PPR. We are still waiting. I am thinking to order CAIPS notes tom. and ask CIC to issue visa from his home country?? I dont know they can do that or not. They should consider the circumstances now.

In-need of your prayers,

We have been horrified watching the events upfolding in Japan. It is hard to even imagine what it must be like for everyone there. You are indeed all in our prayers and I hope you get your PPR very soon so you can start your new life in Canada. I also hope that they can get the nuclear disaster under control before more damage is done. So very sad the damage and destruction for all the people of Japan. There are just no words strong enough to express our horror and disbelief.

i'm so sorry...all our prayers to u and all the Japanese...it's such a tragedy, i'm being so sad abt it and barely manage to have some work done :(

i didn't understand ur question full: u mean he's residing in Japan but his home country is another one? if yes, then yeah u could ask them to transfer his file but u need to consider this: the processing times of that visa office comparing with Tokyo, the delay of the transfer itself, will he be able to travel in case of an interview and also it's a big chance that they will transfer ur file when all this is over - i doubt anyone is working now

maybe u can get him a tourist visa on compassionate grounds but not through Tokyo cuz maybe they don't work to process (though his home country)...call CIC and ask maybe they made some new procedures for this extremely difficult situation...

stay strong and good luck!

He is not Japanese National.

Ok i really need some advice here. My VO is Japan and because of the current situation I am sure that it will get more delayed or who knows they will issue PPR in couple of days. VO in Tokyo is working already i found out and i was suppose to get any news about PPR by the end of March or mid April. Keeping the circumstances in mind it is not even safe to go back to Japan and wait for the visa. Should i ask VO to transfer the file to my spouse home country?? or i should wait for the PPR and then let them know that it is not possible for us wait in Japan for the visa and ask them to issue visa in spouse home country Huh I am so confused Please help me in this matter.

Thank you in advance.

ADVICE pleasseee

if u r sure that u won't go to Japan to collect the visa then i think it's better to transfer it now...once they issue the visa i think u need to collect from the place which issued it and it cannot b transfered anymore...also, even if it could, maybe it will be close to expiry and then things will get even more complicated with less time for u to land...

but i really don't know either...i didn't read of cases like this either (people transfer during the process sometimes but not once the visa is issued)...so, it's just my opinion....

also call CIC if u can and see maybe they have some specific measures for this exceptional case....when it was the earthquake in Haiti last year, they did prioritize those applications (or so they said)...i don't know if they did even more

hope more experienced members can guide u; ask Leon also on the sticky first thread....best of luck!!

Thanks so much missmini and saifsmarty for your advice and kind words. I shall call them tom. and ask them what to do in this case? Its a rare case so not much advices are up. I hope things get back to normal soon. It seems that whole world is going under crisis.
