Just wanted to say thanks for everyones help, I am now in Canada. After much help on these message boards i got my app sent off late july and got accepted before xmas with a landing date of feb 2nd! we got in on the 31st and got through immigration pretty quick, now i've just gotta ship my stuff over, find a job and somewhere to live! but hey thats another story and all good fun, although temps have hit minus 45 with wind chill!

so thanks again and to everyone else, don't give up the hard work will pay off

I remember those days.....I spent 5 years in Edmonton.....

The weatherman had a chart, that said "exposed flesh freezes in....." (2 minutes, 1 minute, 30 seconds), to give the wind chill factor. :-X
