Hello,

I am temporarily in Canada. I am planning to apply for Open Work Permit on the virtue on my spouse's open work permit. However, I am unable to find the application PDF for Work Permit. I would really appreciate, if someone could help me find one as I do not want to apply online.

Thanks and Regards.

Both Open Work Permits? Is that possible if your wife (I am assuming) is on PGWP?

Yes, its a PGWP?

IMHO (not familiar with PGWP), you need LMO before you could apply for a WP (closed WP, though). The experts (PMM,Leon, rjessome) can tell you better. You can try applying though; it's only $150.00 anyway.

Hello, I was just wondering do I need an LMO if I apply for my OWP? And how much do I need to pay? Thanks a lot for your help guys.

If you're qualified to apply, e.g. AIP for in Canada PR application for LCP, spousal sponsorship or you're a spouse of international student, skilled TFW then you don't need to have LMO. Just attach copy of the AIP letter or Student Permit/Work Permit and copy of marriage contract/certificate. WP is $150.00 CAD.

Thanks job_seeker, for your help. I am under the LCP and I will apply Sept for my OWP/PR but I don't know what AIP means. I so confused how to start application for OWP/PR :(

I saw that you already joined the thread where some of the members share experiences applying for the LCP.

If you send your OWP application together with the PR application, you'll prob get your OWP before you receive the AIP (first stage approval, meaning you qualified under the LCP). You don't need to attach a LMO.

LMO processing time in Mississauga

Job_seeker

Hi, do u have any idea if how long does the LMO processing take in Mississauga?

THanks ;)

I inquired with the CIC call center people. If a spouse is working in Canada on a PGWP (post graduate work permit), then the applicant is also eligible for an Open work permit on the virtue of spouse's work permit. PGWP, for a highly skilled professional does not require an LMO, similarly, if the applicant job falls under 0, A or B of the national skill category (that's highly skilled professionals), the he/she too exempted from LMO.

I have double checked this with the call center people, and I shall be apply for one today. All I have to do is, attach the latest pay slip and employment proof of my spouse.

And a letter from the employer outlining his/her job duties to prove that s/he is working in NOC A, B or 0

Yeap, that is included in the proof of employment letter from the employer. Jr. Electrical Engineer, I guess that falls under 'High Skilled Professional'
