Hello,

I am trying to fill my PR Card renewal form (IMM5444 E, latest version 09-2019) and have some questions in the form. Would appreciate if those who have been through the process provide their inputs:

1) IMM5444 E (09-2019) form (Application for a Permanent Resident Card),

Q-19: Address History Inside & Outside Canada: Even though I meet RO, I made frequent visits of considerable duration to USA & India (3 months to a year). Also, made a few short duration visits like 20 days or so. Do I need to mention the addresses of ALL visits, however short they were and even if they were for vacations or family visits? If yes, this is weird because what if someone went outside Canada for a 2 week vacation and stayed at a hotel? Will he mention the hotel address?

Q-20 Work & Educational History: "If you have not worked or studied, provide your other activity history, including location": Can we write Unemployed (Job Search), or Unemployed (Self Study) wherever applicable?

Q-21 Travel History: Period to be assessed: I became PR (landed) on 25-SEP-2015 and my PR Card expires on 09-NOV-2020, and I am sending the application now (25-Feb-2020), meaning 9 months before the expiry of my card. But they consider past 5 years period for RO. So, what will my assessment period be:
From: 25-SEP-2015 to 25-FEB-2020, or
From: 25-FEB-2015 to 25-FEB-2020 (considering their 5 year RO rule)

Same question: All my absences from Canada won't fit in the table in one form. So, should I fill the additional absences in the same section in additional page, or should I add the information in a plain Word document, quoting the page number, question number, etc?

Also, the last column is the "total number of days". Since it automatically adds up all absences, so it displays a number at the end of column which cannot be erased or edited and I will have information in additional page, so how will it add up the information in both the pages?

Waiting for responses.

Thanks

1. Yes, you need to answer all addresses as best you can. A person who goes outside Canada for even 1 day needs to mention the address as best as possible.

2. Yes, you can write unemployed wherever applicable.

3. Your assessment period is the five year period up to the signature date on the form. So assuming you sign the form on 25 Feb 2020, it's back to 25 Feb 2015.

4. Not sure whether an additional page or Word document is best. Check to see if the guide tells you.
