I am US citizen currently in Canada with my boyfriend. My boyfriend is a Canadian citizen. I want to legally live in Canada. I am not sure my boyfriend and I are quite ready to get married, and going back to school is not an option for me at the moment. I am currently self employed. I work online, as a webcam model. I make very good money, easily between 4-6 thousand dollars a month. I can provide for myself, no problem. And I have at least $10,000 US dollars to my name at the moment. I was wondering if I could apply for PR under self-employed (technically under 513: creative and performing artists). Or do you think my application would be denied? Looking for any possible way to immigrate to Canada, aside from marriage and studying at the moment. I also do not have much college education, I never finished college (no degree) and I have a GED. Federal skilled worker does not apply to me. Any help would be so much appreciated.

If you're thinking of apply via the self-employed route, you should definitely consult with a good immigration lawyer to confirm that you qualify and find out your chances of succeeding. The processing for this category takes years and it's a difficult category to be approved under (we see very very few people go through this category on this forum). I'm not sure that webcam model will qualify you as a creative and performing artist. Again, consult with a good lawyer.

If you do end up applying through this category, keep in mind that this does not give you the right to live in Canada while the application is being processed. You can still only visit.

If you're not ready to get married or become common law so that your boyfriend can sponsor you - and if you're not interested in going to school here - then I'm not sure I can think of any other options based on your profile.

Hopefully others will be able to help/suggest.
