The next thing you should receive is a consent form from the OERC which you should sign and return to them. Good luck with it.
Hi BartJones, the day I got the form I faxed it back to them and that same evening I got decision made on ECAS.......coincidence? I only got SA approval and "in process" on October 28th, not that I'm complaining!

Wow, that's fast. Is it "Decision Made" on the principal applicant or the sponsor? That seems awfully quick.

Decision made on the PA
They actually scheduled a landing interview in Etobicoke for me on Dec. 1st
We received SA approval on Oct. 28th, the same day PA's ECAS went "in process"
I wonder how the OERC will handle my appeal, will my 3 month waiting period begin from the date they received confirmation from CIC?

Wow, super fast. Congratulations.

The OERC will determine your eligibility based on the date CIC completed your 'eligibility assessment'. Your 3 month waiting period will begin from that date. When the OERC responds to your appeal, they will tell you exactly which date your coverage begins or began.

Hi everyone. Need your advice on my issue here.
My husband submitted the Inland Spouse Sponsorship in Oct 2013 and we are waiting almost 14 months. No AIP yet. I stayed in Ottawa since May 2013.

Can I go to apply OHIP now and then appeal to OERC?

If you applied for OHIP now and appealed to OERC, they would reject your husband on the basis that he has not received AIP yet. He can get OHIP 3 months after he receives AIP.

Correct. For an inland application OHIP kicks in at AIP + 3 months.

Hi All,

I applied my PR application on feb2014, and received on march. In that mean time, I also renew my work permit due to it would be expired on july2014. So under my lawyer suggestion, he put my pr document and renew work permit receipt all paper in the same envelope!! But now I am pregnancy , and my baby will born on April 2015, it's very rush to get my work permit ready and can renew my health card. I called the call center, they said didn't find my work permit application online, it took 10 month long, and he said it will take 3 more month to get process, but I am so worry about if they didn't start my process my work permit, and then I also call my lawyer, he said he sent my work permit with the PR application together, the call center may be cannot find it out:( but I really need my work permit done before my baby born! Please help, I am appreciated it!

Hello all,

How much is the waiting period to be covered by OHIP for a family who got their PR cards and plan to start living in Ontario in April?
On OHIP webside it says it's 153 days from the day you start residing in Ontario out of the first 183 days. But, some forum members mentioned 3 months waiting period. So, I am confused now.
If we move in Canada (Ontario) in April and I am pregnant and pay for all the check-ups during the first three months and have my baby in July, will I pay for the delivery or will OHIP cover it? Since if it's 153 days of waiting than I will have to pay my self, which will cost a lot. If I am covered by OHIP then, no problem.
What is your experience?

The waiting period for coverage is 90 days after you move to Ontario. You do however have to fulfill at least 153 days in your first 6 months and after that 153 days a year in order to keep your coverage.

Thanks a lot for the quick reply. That means that I can have my baby delivered and not pay anything after 90 days.

Yes, for the first 90 days, you do not have coverage. After 90 days, you get it. Anything after that is covered.
