Important Dates for entry into Canada

For our interview for PR they want an original date of entry as well as most recent. Which original date is this? We are inland application. My (American) spouse has been here many times before we applied, so which date do they want - the one from 12 years ago or during the application?

Going to bump this because similar question for OWP. Original date of entry is asked and most recent entry. Does original entry refer to first EVER visit to Canada? Spouse came many times as a child to Canada. Is he really expected to know/remember when his first time ever was?
