Ok I will include an extension of stay and an OWP, is there any specific form for the extension?

I can assure you that she will be on implied status because my friends visa expired while his AIP hasnt come yet, he had to get police clearance in calgary and the police reffered him to CIC, an officer just took his AOR email. He also had to renew his passport in the Philippine embassy and they accepted his AOR email. If he wasnt on implied status I'm pretty sure they wouldn't allow him to get his documents. Once we got AIP, it says there open work permits are approved. But I guess to be on the safe side she could apply for a visitor visa too but I don't think its necessary.

Yeah I'd rather be safe than sorry! Ugh this PR stuff can be so confusing!! Is the application for the OWP and the extension of stay the same? And if so I see there is a another statutory declaration of common-law union - do we have to send 3 of them one for PR, one for OWP and one for extension - or can we just include the one we already have in the PR application and then explain that?

Yes Its the change conditions/extend your stay form. Some people here put "to be processed after AIP" on the open work permit application. I made sure all the requirements for the open work permit were complete as well. (photocopies)

So shall I just copy the staturory declaration form and include that on the OWP and the extension of stay?

Hey I think the mailing address for Visitor and Temporary resident permit is different from the Permanent residence applications, Why don't you just apply online for the visitor permit and put there you have an inland sponsorship application. The open work permit has to come in the same envelope with the sponsorship though.

So I pay the extension of stay and then just include OWP w. PR application? That sounds like an easy plan I think I will do that, thank you so much :-)

Now concerning fees I saw that one can only pay with credit cards, paying with my partners mothers credit card won't be a problem or do we need to put her in as "use of representative" in order to do so?

Operations Manual IP 6 says:

"5.6. Inland applications for permanent residence
In situations where an applicant who has visitor status submits an application for permanent
residence to Vegreville and at the same time submits an application for a work permit (pursuant to
R207(b)), the visitor may be considered to have requested an extension of their TR status (in
accordance with R183(5)). They are considered to have implied status as a visitor, until a
decision is made on their WP application.
When no application for a work or study permit is received with the application for permanent
residence, the applicant is obliged to apply to extend their visitor status."

Oh my gosh I'm so confused.. The fee for the extension of stay could really go to living because I have resigned and wont work until I get my OWP. To include or not include a visitor extension? I need to decide by no later than tonight :(

I always thought applying for a work permit OR a visitor permit would grant implied status as they are BOTH trv visas.

If it makes you more comfortable just submit a visitor extension. It will likely be processed before the OWP anyway. Sorry, I didn't mean to confuse you more.

As did I, I have no clue whether to take a risk or include one..

No it's all good it's better to be safe than sorry but the amount of time I've spent looking for this answer major replies were just to include an OWP but considering that I run out of status on Monday and they receive it by Monday makes me want to be safe.. Because if I overstay I'm pretty much doomed ain't i? I really appreciate all you guys' help I wouldn't have known what to do without this forum!!
